  • description

  • In recent years, Abu Dhabi has become synonymous with architectural ambition and splendor. The U.A.E. government's concerted efforts to make Abu Dhabi a global destination city for both business and pleasure have resulted in spectacular architectural projects built by some of the biggest names in contemporary architecture. This installment of the Cities Reinvented Series explores the way Abu Dhabi has transformed itself in the modern period, featuring in-depth studies of major modern works of architecture, such as the ADIA Headquarters, the Capital Gate Building and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, and also providing a comprehensive history of modern architecture in Abu Dhabi, from major city planning projects and master plans to cutting edge domestic scale designs, as well as profiles of the local and international architects who made this transformation possible.
